KUALA LUMPUR: The show must go on. The sponsors have pulled out, but M.Nasir's Konsert Alam Muzik is still on at Istana Budaya from Feb 27 to March 1.
"It's their right to pull out. But we will work hard to make it a success," Boxoffice Malaysia chairman Ali Bakar told a press conference after the signing of the memorandum of understanding between The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) and Boxoffice.
Also present were NSTP chief executive officer Datuk Anthony Firdaus Bujang, group editor-in-chief Datuk Hishamuddin Aun, AirAsia chairman Datuk Aziz Bakar and the music maestro himself, M. Nasir.
Hishamuddin said NSTP was honoured to be a part of the event, which will also support the NSTP Charity Fund. For each ticket sold, RM1 will be donated to the fund.
M. Nasir said he was glad to be back performing on a big scale. His last solo concert, Andalusia, was held in 2000.
"I will be accompanied by 10 musicians.
"The concert is a reflection of my music throughout the years," he said, adding that he was open to requests.
"A lot of requests have been posted on my Facebook account, even for songs by Tan Sri P. Ramlee," he said.
Tickets are priced at RM250, RM200, RM150, RM85 and RM45. For reservations, call 03-4149-8600 or visit www.ticket2u.biz.
